Nando’s automates operations and saves up to 80% of resources using Posist
“Having been in the industry for 20 years in this field, I know how hard it is to make the software work as per your requirements. It takes years to get a custom feature rollout. But with Posist, the custom requirements take only a few weeks. It has made our lives much easier.”

About Nando’s
Long before the launch of the famous Burj Khalifa in Dubai, Nando’s made its way into the region in 2002. Ever since the brand continues to indulge peri-peri lovers in the nation. Nando’s has also been recognized as the ‘Best Casual Dining Restaurant in Abu Dhabi’ by BBC Good Food Middle East Awards.
The Problem
- Nando’s used legacy technology to manage its front-of-house and back-of-house operations. Since the legacy technology hosted all its data on local servers, it was quite challenging for the limited IT resources at Nando’s to manage all the updates manually.
- Consolidating data required visiting every outlet physically, making the data collection time-consuming and error-prone. The HQ team struggles to reconcile data and derive meaningful insights out of it. The process also caused significant delays in the combative and strategic action.
- Nando’s used a disparate set of food delivery tools to meet customer needs. However, these aggregator tools worked in silos. Managing these orders from these apps created additional IT tasks and manual reconciliation dependencies, making the operations difficult to manage and causing customer complaints.
The Solution
Having tried most of the enterprise legacy POS systems in the market, Nando’s came across Posist’s cloud-based restaurant management platform and got wowed by the flexibility and integrations it offered. Right from the menu flow to discounts, Nando’s has been able to configure Posist as per their needs.
- Posist integrated the POS directly with delivery aggregators such as Zomato, Talabat, Deliveroo, and Careem. There’s a single stream of online orders now which automatically syncs up all the orders in the POS in the real-time.
- With Posist real-time analytics, it has become much easier for the management team at Nando’s to understand the customer behavior and business performance. As Posist consolidates data from all sources on a single dashboard, the data accessibility has also improved.
- To help streamline front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH) operations. Posist enabled inventory management module and had it synced with the POS, establishing a real-time sync between both sides of operations.
The Outcome
With Posist, Nando’s have not only increased their productivity, but also saved hardware and resource costs up to 80%.
- Earlier during peak hours, there used to be a queue of delivery riders waiting for order pick-ups, creating a lot of customer complaints. This problem no longer exists. Now orders directly go into the Posist POS system through integrations with Zomato, Talabat, Deliveroo, and Careem.
- With Posist, Nando’s can also experiment with ideas and deliver upon the new standards of customer experience. The brand has leveraged pay-at-table technology and QR code ordering, making the dining experience smoother.
- For the first time, Nando’s achieved visibility and control over the inventory. With Posist’s inventory module, it has become easier for them to spot-check consumption variance. Earlier, the team used to track stock every month; with Posist they can do it weekly. It has helped them reduce wastage, make optimizations, and arrive close to the acceptable food cost variance.
